Long Term Care

 What is Long Term Care?

Long term care provides several necessary services for those with a prolonged illness, disability or cognitive disorder such as Alzheimer’s.  Long term care differs from traditional medical care; it is designed to assist a person to maintain his or her level of functioning rather than to rehabilitate or correct certain medical problems.   For instance, services may include help with bathing and dressing, respite care, home health care, assisted living or nursing home care.

Won’t Medicare pay for these services?

NO! This is a common misconception.   Medicare will pay for skilled nursing care on a limited basis only. The Senate Committee on Aging has found that the primary cause of poverty for the elderly is lack of planning for Long Term Care.

Can’t My Spouse Take Care of ME??

Your spouse may WANT to care for you, but so often is physically unable to provide necessary care, such as lifting into a wheel chair or into the tub.

Dixie Insurance will offer only policies from those insurance companies  with a proven track record  - those which you can count on to be around when it is time for you to file a claim , those companies who rates are fair, those companies whom you can TRUST!
